Sika Sikaflex 291 is a 1-component, marine-grade polyurethane elastomeric adhesive and sealant that is very popular among boat builders. Sikaflex 291 polyurethane sealant cures quickly which makes it ideal for applications where speed is critical. Sikaflex 291 polyurethane adhesive sealant is an all-purpose marine sealant which can be used for light-duty bonding, above and below the water line, it resists salt water, possesses fast strength build-up and adheres extremely well to gelcoat, fiberglass, metal and wood substrates. Sikaflex 291 polyurethane sealant can be squeezed or brushed into place, is very stable, paintable, offers excellent bonding performance, fast track-free time, is sandable, is NSF approved for potable water and USDA approved for incidental food contact. Sikaflex 291 polyurethane sealant Is not intended for structural applications.

Limitations

• Do not apply on frozen surface or through standing water. 
• Do not apply over any silicones or in the presence of curing silicones. 
• Avoid contact with alcohol and alcohol that contains solvents during the curing time.
• Allow a minimum of 1 week full cure prior to total water immersion situations. 
• Maximum chlorine exposure is 2.5 ppm. 
• Not to be used as a deck seam sealant.
