Product Overview

DuPont (formerly branded by Dow) Betaseal U-838 Quick-Cure Primerless to Auto Glass Urethane Adhesive is a high viscosity, one-component, polyurethane auto glass adhesive that provides excellent decking and meets or exceeds original equipment specifications. DuPont Betaseal U-838 is used in OEM applications and is extremely weather resistant and durable. DuPont Betaseal U-838 is a fast-cure, primerless-to-auto glass windshield adhesive that offers excellent product workability and sag resistance. DuPont Betaseal U-838 reduces application time and permits a convenient drive away period. Betaseal U-838 requires a primer for the pinchweld and encapsulations, if applicable. Pinchweld and encpsulation primers: Betaprime 5404G Pinchweld and Encapsulation Primer. Betaprime U-5201 Bare Metal Etch Primer (if required).

  • Structurally bonded or direct glazed automotive glass, such as windshields, backlites, quarter glass and other stationary glass
  • Other uses such as attaching hardware to glass and backfilling to install reveal moldings or other trim
