Dow 791 Silicone Weatherproofing Sealant - 10.3 Fluid Ounce Cartridge

Dow 791 (formerly Dow Corning 791) silicone weatherproofing sealant is a neutral cure, one-part, architectural-type sealant. This excellent silicone sealant is easily gunnable in all weather conditions and cures quite fast at room temperature as it reacts with the air's moisture. Dow 791 forms a flexible yet tough and long lasting silicone rubber sealant. This silicone caulk is recognized as a premium performance weathersealing product that is specifically intended for general glazing and weathersealing in curtainwall and building fronts. Furthermore, Dow 791 silicone sealant is ideal for expansion, connection, perimeter and other movement joints. Prior to gunning, make sure to clean all joints by removing all foreign matter and contaminants such as grease, oil, dust, water, frost, surface dirt, old sealants or glazing compounds and protective coatings.

Limitations

• For use as a structural sealant
• In below-grade applications 
• When surface temperatures exceed 122°F
• On surfaces that are continuously immersed in water 
• On building materials that bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents, green or partially vulcanized rubber gaskets or tapes 
• On frost-laden or wet surfaces 
• In totally confined joints (the sealant requires atmospheric moisture for cure) 
• If the sealant is intended to be painted (paints do not typically adhere to most silicone sealants) 
• To surfaces in direct contact with food or other food-grade applications
