Dow 758 Silicone Weather Barrier Sealant - 20 Fluid Ounce Sausage

Dow 758 (formerly Dow Corning 758) silicone weather barrier sealant is a neutral one part silicone sealant that is designed for adhering to low energy surfaces common in sheet or peel and stick weather resistant barriers. Dow 758 is a one part , RTV silicone sealant that provides excellent adhension to a wide range of building materials including PVC, steel, aluminum, metals, etc. Dow 758 does not require a primer when applied to most substrates and is applicable over a wide temperature range. Dow 758 offers excellent adhesion to extruded and formed silicone sheet materials and it adheres to many polyethylene film-based weather-resistant barriers. Dow 758 adheres to many spun-bonded polyolefin and fibrous or woven air barriers and to many other sealing elements such as flashing or elastomeric liquid applied weather barriers. Dow 758 adheres to many common fenestration element materials such as anodized aluminum, vinyl, PVC, powder coat, paint and fluoropolymer coatings. Dow 758 contributes to improved air tightness of window installations, is UV resistant, provides excellent durability and does not become brittle or crack over time.

Limitations

Dow 758 Silicone Weather Barrier Sealant should not be used:

• As an aesthetic weatherseal
• In below-grade applications
• In structural applications
• In continuous water immersion applications
• Not tested nor represented as suitable for medical or pharmaceutical uses.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to citrus containing cleaners, solvents and solvent-based cleaners.
